What was your favorite childhood book?

Growing up in the 80's and early 90's there were scores of wonderful children's books that kept me company. At any one time, my small wooden bedside table was stacked high with colorful hardbacks of various sizes. One of my favorite times of the day was when my dad would sit between my sister and I in our twin beds and read a bedtime story. Of course, he used all the funny voices and every character had his own personality. Snuggled under the covers, my imagination would come alive as I listened to my dad begin a new tale. These memories are still some of my favorite till this day.
While at the library the other day, I found myself browsing through the children's section and saw many book that brought a smile to my face. As cliche as the saying goes, there is a child inside of all of us.
What were your favorite books growing up?
